Longridge U3A Groups

All the groups are self help and set their own programmes and all members are encouraged to contribute, depending on their experiences and capabilities. Group meetings are held at various venues in Longridge on a nominated day each week / month.

 How do I join a Group ?

Clicking on a group name below will take you to the group page which will tell you about the group, meeting dates/venues and contact details. If you would like to join a group please contact the group convener by clicking on the blue text next to Group email . Not contacting the group convener may result in being turned away. It is also suggested that you come along to one of our monthly general meetings (see the Noticeboard page for detail). Here you will be able to meet other members of the group and/or the Group Convener to obtain more information.

How are Groups run ?

Groups are run by Group Conveners who are members and who voluntarily give their time to run the group. Members of the group are expected to contribute by passing on their knowledge, regardless of how limited, so that others may learn.

How to become a Group Convener (start a group)?

It depends on the interests of members and the goodwill of members prepared to lead a group. If you have any suggestions for additional groups, especially if you are interested in helping to start one, please contact our Group Coordinator. A description of your proposed group needs to be discussed with the Groups Coordinator or one of the Committee. If there is sufficient interest in the proposed new group suitable dates/times/venue can be arranged with those interested.
